The Exquisite Corpse

___

Brooch project, 2014

This was a project undertaken by the "Joyas Sensacionales" collective under the direction of Silvia Walz.
The idea was to create a series of drawings using the ‘exquisite corpse’ technique, also known as Picture Consequences. This was a game invented by the Surrealists which involves group creation and invention. One of the artists starts the drawing, then passes it on to the next to continue it. However, the second person only sees the very end of the first drawing. It is a playful, spontaneous and anonymous creative process with some surprising results.

The resulting drawings were used as inspiration to create a piece of jewellery using all the group’s input.
